Ride It Out (Bonus Track):I wrote Ride It Out years ago, after I was diagnosed with BPD. The lyrics describe a fear of abandonment and all-or-nothing thinking patterns. It also shows what an excessive need for external validation looks like and touches on suicidal ideation. At the time of writing it, I thought BPD was a death sentence. I wasn’t sure if remission would ever be possible for me. This song actually helped me through many dark moments during those early days of treatment. It reminded me that I had already overcome so much and that I shouldn’t give up on myself. My hope in finally sharing this song, is that it’ll do the same for others.”
10. Don’t Go, I’m Trying (Bonus Track): “This track was never supposed to be a song. The acoustic guitar was recorded during a jam session in 2016 with Them vs. Her’s original rhythm guitarist, and was quickly forgotten. Lyrics were written in 2022 and vocals were recorded in 2024. The rest of the instruments were recorded in 2025. The lyrics describe what it’s like to be a person with BPD in love with someone who doesn’t value or appreciate you. It reflects Sadie’s growth and journey and her realization that she deserves more. The line, ‘I trusted you, now I’ll trust Him,’ speaks of her relationship with Jesus.”
11. Letters From Home (Band Version) (Bonus Track): When I asked Them vs. Her’s new rhythm guitarist, Howie, to come up with his own version of ‘Letters From Home,’ we planned to make it into an acoustic song (similar to “Ride It Out”) but when we went over the song during rehearsal in the presence of Matt (lead guitar) and Anthony (drums)—it morphed into something greater. This is that.
12. Letters From Home (Piano Version) (Bonus Track): “The piano version of ‘Letters From Home’ was the first song written and recorded for the soundtrack. It’s dedicated to my son, Nick. In a nutshell, the song is a love letter from a mother to her child and acts as an epilogue to the story. It captures the unconditional love that should be present between a parent and child, the desire to break generational cycles and the quiet hope that no matter what life throws your way—you’ll keep going and find your way back home. This song helps the story and the soundtrack come full circle.”
